Gene Tomasco

When you place your home, commercial property, or life's savings into the hands of a general contractor, experience isn't just a bonus—it's everything. Gene Tomasco, owner and founder of G Tech Construction LLC, brings over 40 years of hands-on, end-to-end construction expertise to every project his team touches. Serving property owners throughout Oregon City and the entire Portland Metro area, Gene has built a reputation grounded in uncompromising quality, transparent communication, and honest craftsmanship.

Gene’s journey in the construction industry began over four decades ago on active job sites, learning the trades from the ground up. Over forty years, building codes change, architectural styles evolve, and building technologies advance dramatically—yet the core foundation of great construction remains unchanged: doing the job right the first time. Gene’s long-standing background spans every facet of residential and commercial building, giving him a deep structural understanding that few modern contractors can match.

A Legacy Built on Craftsmanship and Proven Expertise

Under Gene's leadership, G Tech Construction has established itself as a premier general contracting firm in the Pacific Northwest. Gene specializes in complete residential renovation, interior remodeling, structural modifications, and full-scale property makeovers. Whether he is transforming an outdated kitchen into a modern culinary workspace, reconfiguring a floor plan for structural accessibility, or executing a top-to-bottom bare-bones remodel, Gene brings meticulous precision and care to every phase of the project.

Beyond interior space redesigns, Gene possesses extensive expertise in home exterior work tailored specifically to the unique climate demands of the Pacific Northwest. From siding installation and roof repair to weatherproofing, deck building, and energy-efficient window and door replacements, Gene understands how to protect an investment against heavy rain, wind, and seasonal shifts while sharply increasing overall curb appeal.

Leadership, Industry Credentials, and Client Trust

What sets Gene apart as a builder and author in the general contracting space is his holistic approach to project management. Construction isn't just about hammering nails—it’s about managing logistics, budgets, schedules, and permits with total transparency. Under Gene’s leadership, G Tech Construction operates as a fully licensed, bonded, and insured entity and as certified Lead-Based Paint Renovation (LBPR) professionals.

Gene works directly with property owners, interior designers, real estate professionals, and HOA boards to turn vision into reality. His comprehensive industry knowledge means that G Tech Construction handles every aspect of a project internally—from the initial consultation and detailed site assessment to permit acquisition, direct coordination with insurance providers when necessary, and final walk-through inspections.

Gene’s business philosophy is built around a simple guarantee: satisfaction on all completed work. His clients—ranging from homeowners in Tigard to real estate managers across Portland—consistently highlight Gene's responsiveness, accessibility, and fair pricing. As a veteran builder, Gene understands that contractor trust is earned through clear timelines, tidy job sites, and clear-cut communication at every single step.

Empowering Homeowners Through Education

In addition to managing daily job site operations, Gene is passionate about educating homeownership. Through his writing and consulting, Gene breaks down complex construction topics into plain, practical advice for property owners. From navigating major kitchen and bath remodels to knowing when exterior weatherproofing is required before Oregon’s winter hits, Gene regularly shares actionable advice derived from four decades of hard-earned field experience.

Gene believes that an informed client is an empowered client. His goal for every published guide, article, and site resource is to help readers understand structural integrity, budget accurately for property updates, avoid common contractor pitfalls, and make smart long-term decisions for their homes.
